I Spy...

I named this piece I Spy... after the game, “I Spy With 
My Little Eye”, which is a classic observational guessing
game, where one player (the “spy”) chooses a visible object
and says, “I spy with my little eye” and the other players
guess what it until the object is identified. This was a
game my mother would play with me to take my mind off of
something scary, like going to the Doctor and it left an
impression on me to this very day. 

In this Assemblage Art piece I puzzled together lots of 
antique and vintage items I’ve found, harvested and saved
off of old accordions, cameras, photo equipment, tools, 
telephones, clocks and so much more. I compare making
this type of my are to assembling a puzzle without a box
and find so much joy in creating them. But like the game,
I Spy, my favorite part is watching people figure out all
the pieces and parts.
