I created this bird art assemblage using a vintage cast metal lamp base with a green tone and slight gold accents. To that I placed a thin teak wood platform and added copper wire nest, which I created using strands of repurposed copper with wonderful patina's. The bird is cast iron and rests on top of the wire.
The quote by Erin Hanson is hand-stamped by Melissa and reads, "What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly? and rests against the base.
