Jenny created her first Victory Girl as a project in art therapy. Debilitated by anxiety and depression, she was given the assignment to create an art piece featuring a woman embracing her imperfections and rising above.
Now, inspired by the incredible work of one of her heroes, Glennon Doyle, and her message “We Can Do Hard Things”, Jenny has created this limited edition “I Can Do Hard Things” Victory Girl with 20% of the gross sales going to Glennon’s non-profit Together Rising (see more @together.rising or togetherrising.org) where every penny they receive goes to people in need.
For Jenny’s other Victory Girls the sheen is removed to reveal the natural color underneath. But for this Limited Edition Victory Girl, Jenny is keeping the shine to remind us all to never, ever dim our light. The wood bases are recycled blocks from old work tables that are sanded down to smooth them - yet still keeping the imperfection in the wood. Jenny added a brass washer and star-patterned disk to the base beneath them and Jenny’s partner Melissa hand-stamps recycled brass blanks with the “I” affirmations, which Jenny then attaches to the front. Each one is unique and signed by Jenny.
They measure approximately 4" wide by 2" deep by 7.5" tall.
