This antique cast iron piano dolly was part of a set of 3 and were used to move big, heavy things – namely pianos. I love cast iron and loved the embossed wording on it (plus the wheels still turn!) and decided to turn it into a small table lamp. I placed an antique “Fat Boy” lamp socket shell on top of a wood foundry pattern and then wired it with a new switch & cardboard sleeve. The wire is twisted cloth covered and measures approximately 8’. The incandescent bulb is also included. It is an interesting lamp and would be perfect by a bedside, on a bookshelf, desk or anywhere else you want something unique.
Please note: Lamp wire is new stock used for rewiring electric lamps or to restore old lamps, fans, and radios. Twisted wire is a high quality 18 gauge / 2-wire cord, protected with rubber insulation and then covered with a cotton or rayon cloth. The wire is not UL Listed. Do not exceed a 60 watt bulb.
